Governor Cox’s recent statement has attracted a lot of interest. A concerned individual stated, “My thoughts and prayers are with Richard’s family. This is completely senseless! Governor Cox, you and your team need to take action to enforce strict regulations and impose severe penalties for unsafe loads.”
In the wake of the tragedy, a movement was launched to forbid larger vehicles from using the narrow passageway bordered by the Ogden River and steep mountain cliffs.
As of Tuesday, the petition had obtained approximately 3,300 signatures out of the 5,000 it aims to reach. The petition’s purpose is to advocate for the enforcement of regulations on the types of vehicles allowed on Highway 39, which runs through Ogden Canyon. The petition emphasizes the urgent necessity of restricting certain vehicle categories from using this narrow roadway in order to ensure the safety of all those who depend on it.
Our condolences are with the mourning family during this difficult time.
