Sharon Stone revealed the devastating news of the passing of her nephew River. The cause of death was total organ failure.
River was the child of Patrick, the brother of Stone, and his spouse Tasha. The young boy, who was just 11 months old, passed away shortly before reaching his first birthday.
A week before this heartbreaking event, the star of Basic Instinct posted a photograph of River, who was on a ventilator, and expressed, “My nephew and godson River Stone was discovered in his crib with complete organ failure today.
Please pray for him. We are in need of a miracle.”
Unfortunately, he did not survive.
Stone announced the tragic news on social media, stating, “River William Stone Sept. 8, 2020 – Aug. 30, 2021,” accompanied by a video tribute featuring the song “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton.
Stone, who served as River’s godmother, frequently shared photographs of him, illustrating the depth of her affection.
When River was just a newborn, she uploaded an adorable image of him in his seat, accompanied by the caption, “Look who’s going home: River William Stone, the new baby of my brother Patrick and his wife Tasha.”
In a heartfelt tribute, River’s mother, Tasha, expressed her sorrow over the loss of her son, who departed this world far too soon.
“God required River in Heaven. I cannot articulate how much I needed him here on Earth, as my heart is shattered into countless pieces,” she stated.
“My life will never be the same, and I am at a loss regarding how to continue without the sweetest boy in the universe. I am devastated.
River William Stone, you were cherished beyond comprehension. Departing from your hospital room today was the most difficult experience I have ever faced. I will ALWAYS love you, my precious baby boy.”
Sharon Stone is the proud mother of three adopted sons: Quinn, aged 16, Laird, aged 17, and Roan, aged 22.
In an interview with Vogue, she expressed, “As a single mother of three adopted boys, it has been the greatest honor of my life to nurture them.”
She further reflected, “Adoption opens your eyes to the idea that any child could be your own, and any individual could be part of your family. This realization forever alters your perspective on the world…”
We extend our heartfelt condolences for the profound loss experienced by the Stone family.
