Some can be beautiful tributes to the people or things we care about the most.
Others, however, might end up being drunken decisions that we regret the moment we wake up and catch sight of them.
That’s exactly what one footballer is feeling after realizing the tattoo he got may have been a big mistake, though for a very different reason than most.
On October 8th, Brazilian footballer Vinicius Tobias’ ex-girlfriend, Ingrid Lima, gave birth to a baby girl named Maitê.
He has since returned to Shakhtar for the current season and has already played five times in the 2024/25 campaign.
Even though he and Lima had split up, Tobias believed the baby was his, so he decided to get her name tattooed on his arm, along with the phrase ‘te amo’, which means ‘I love you’ in Portuguese.
Just one week later, she took to social media to reveal that Tobias was not actually Maitê’s biological father. This revelation was first reported by The Daily Mail.
Sharing the update with her 130,000 Instagram followers, Lima explained: “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out on publicly to give you an explanation. Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that time, I was in a relationship with someone and so was he. We both moved on with our lives.”
So far, Tobias has remained silent and hasn’t made any public comments regarding the results of the DNA test.
In response to the backlash that followed, Lima has urged the public to stop criticizing Tobias, stressing that the situation has been resolved between them peacefully.
“Vinicius and I have already sat down and talked amicably. I wish him the best things in the world, that both can follow their lives in peace.”
