The 37-year-old actor, who came out as transgender in 2020, detailed this relationship in his 2023 memoir titled “Pageboy.”
He describes his first impression in the memoir: “I was taken aback the moment I saw Olivia Thirlby. She seemed so much older, capable, and centered.”
“Sexually open, far removed from where I was at the time. But the chemistry was palpable, it pulled me in.”
He recounts that Olivia confessed she was ‘really attracted’ to him, and he felt the same about her.
He mentions it was one of the first times someone made him experience an orgasm.
He remembers the various places they were intimate, including “Her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room in a restaurant…”
“I didn’t see a glint of it in her eyes and I wanted that — done feeling wretched about who I am,” he wrote.
Around the time “Juno” was filmed, Olivia and Elliot were also cast as the main characters in “Jack & Diane,” a film about two young women falling in love.
Olivia, who came out as bisexual in 2011, married Jacques Pienaar in 2014, but they filed for divorce in 2021.
In “Pageboy,” he discussed this relationship, noting that Kate, who was dating Max Minghella at the time, was ‘in love with two people’.
