A 23-year-old British woman was fatally shot while visiting her father in Texas last year following a dispute regarding President Donald Trump, an inquest has revealed.
According to reports, Lucy Harrison, aged 23, was shot and killed during her stay with her father, Kris Harrison, at his family residence in Prosper, Texas.
Lucy, a fashion buyer hailing from Warrington in the UK, had traveled to the United States accompanied by her boyfriend, Sam Littler. The couple was scheduled to return home on January 10, 2025.
However, on the day they were supposed to depart, Lucy was shot dead by her own father. An inquest at Cheshire Coroner’s Court in the UK was informed by Littler that the two had been ‘having quite a big argument’.
Littler recounted that Lucy and her father frequently clashed over their differing political views, particularly regarding gun ownership.
Sky News reports that the argument on January 10, 2025, centered around Donald Trump, with Lucy questioning Kris about his feelings if she were to be sexually assaulted.

The father reportedly responded that he would not be particularly upset, mentioning that he has two other daughters residing with him.
Littler stated that Kris’s remarks prompted Lucy to ‘run upstairs’ due to her ‘upset’.
The boyfriend also mentioned that Kris then took Lucy by the hand, guiding her to his bedroom located on the ground floor of the house. Approximately 15 seconds later, Littler recalled hearing a loud bang followed by Kris calling for his wife.
“I remember rushing into the room and finding Lucy lying on the floor close to the bathroom entrance, while Kris was screaming incoherently,” Littler recounted.
Kris Harrison was heard yelling, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know, call 911,’ just moments after the shooting, as the inquest revealed.
A grand jury determined that no charges would be filed in connection with Lucy’s death, opting not to indict Kris in June 2025.
The UK inquest disclosed that Kris had previously undergone rehabilitation for alcohol dependency, with the father himself acknowledging in a statement submitted to the court that he had relapsed on the day of the shooting, consuming approximately 500ml of white wine.
Kris stated: “There isn’t a day that goes by without me feeling the burden of that loss – a burden I will bear for the remainder of my life, and I understand that nothing I say can alleviate the sorrow this tragedy has inflicted.”
He concluded: “I am profoundly sorry for the anguish others are experiencing due to this tragedy. Lucy’s spirit – her warmth, her humor, her kindness – will endure in all of us who cherished her.
