In a shocking mistake, a journalist was unintentionally added to a private text chat with JD Vance, exposing Trump’s top-secret war plans.

A stunning security breach has exposed President Donald Trump’s top secret war plans.

The incident occurred when Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was mistakenly added to an encrypted Signal chat about U.S. military strikes in Yemen.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz created the chat on Signal. The group included Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Also listed were a CIA representative, Trump adviser Stephen Miller, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Shockingly, Goldberg, a well-known journalist, was added to the conversation.

“It should go without saying—but I’ll say it anyway—that I have never been invited to a White House principals-committee meeting,” he wrote in The Atlantic.

He was stunned when Defense Secretary Hegseth texted him a war plan at 11:44 a.m. Just hours later, at 2 p.m., the bombs began falling in Yemen.

When asked about the report, Trump denied any concerns. “I don’t know anything about it,” he told reporters. “It couldn’t have been very effective because the attack was very effective.”

The bizarre mistake and its possible cause

Goldberg’s initials in the chat appeared as “JG.”

While, speculation suggests the intended recipient may have been Jamieson Greer, the U.S. Trade Representative, who shares the same initials.

Despite the massive security lapse, the White House defended Waltz. “President Trump continues to have the utmost confidence in his national security team, including National Security Advisor Mike Waltz,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated.

Inside the Controversial signal chat

The chat contained high-level discussions on the operation. Vance raised concerns, writing, “I am not sure the president is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now.”

Despite initial hesitation, Vance eventually conceded. “If you think we should do it, let’s go. I just hate bailing Europe out again,” he wrote.

Addtionally, Goldberg remained in the chat, watching the conversation.

He was astounded by the lack of awareness. “I was mystified that no one in the group seemed to have noticed my presence,” he wrote.

He waited in a supermarket parking lot, refreshing social media for updates.

“At about 1:55 p.m., I checked X and searched Yemen. Explosions were then being heard across Sanaa, the capital city.”

Officials Celebrate the Attack with Emojis

Following the strike, messages of congratulations flooded the chat. Waltz sent three emojis: a fist, an American flag, and fire.

While, Susie Wiles praised the operation, while Steve Witkoff added praying hands, a flexed bicep, and American flags.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Goldberg voluntarily left the chat. He later reached out to officials for confirmation.

Brian Hughes, National Security Council spokesman, confirmed the chat’s authenticity. “This appears to be an authentic message chain, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain.”

Despite the stunning security failure, the White House insisted the operation was a success.

“The ongoing success of the Houthi operation demonstrates that there were no threats to troops or national security,” Hughes stated.

This unprecedented blunder raises serious questions about national security protocols under Trump’s administration. The fallout from this revelation is only beginning.
