When Amanda Scarpinati was just 3 months old, she accidentally rolled off the sofa and landed on a steam vaporizer. This terrible accident left her with burned and scalded skin. As she grew older, she had to go through many surgeries to help fix the damage.
She was taken to Albany Medical Center, where a caring nurse named Sue Berger looked after her. Berger held the little girl in her arms, providing comfort during her painful moments. This happened back in 1977.
After Amanda was released from the hospital, all she had were some photos with Berger, which reminded her of the nurse’s kindness. Amanda was determined to find this special nurse to thank her for the love and care she had shown.
While growing up, Amanda faced bullying because of her burns, which made the nurse’s kindness even more important to her. She decided to share her story on Facebook, and soon enough, people helped her find the nurse.
In the video below, you can see Amanda and Sue reunite at the same place where they first met, and it’s a really touching moment. You won’t want to miss how they express their feelings for each other.
