Brendan Schaub has conspiracy theory about why Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight was really cancelled
Brendan Schaub has an interesting theory for why Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s scheduled bout has been nixed.
Former UFC fight Brendan Schaub has a conspiracy theory for why Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s scheduled fight has been cancelled.
The pair were slated to face off in a mammoth professional contest live on Netflix on July 20.
But the showdown at the AT&T Stadium was cancelled last week, following on from Tyson suffering a medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.
He became dizzy and nauseous, with it later revealed that Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up.
He has been advised against taking part in training and so the bout will not take place on the planned date, though all parties are hopeful of it happening later this year.
But Schaub, 10-5 in MMA and now a successful podcaster, reckons there may be more to it.
He speculated about the plan being for the Paul brothers – Logan and Jake – to square off inside the squared circle.
“Years ago when I had Logan on, he said the ultimate plan – this ends with me and my brother fighting,” he said on the Thiccc boy podcast.
“Here’s a question. Put my tinfoil hat on. Was this the plan all along? Here’s another question for you guys. What gets more – Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul or Jake Paul versus Logan Paul?
“I’m not saying on YouTube, on Netflix. Because if you take Mike Tyson out of that fight, my dad’s not watching it.
“My dad’s not watching Logan Paul. But a ton of youngsters who vape and are confused about their pronouns are gonna tune in.
“What do I think gets more views overall? Jake Paul versus Logan Paul. “Because you’re going to get their fanbases, which is bigger than Mike Tyson’s.”
Schaub’s comments after the Pauls had a back and forth on social media with another, with Logan putting himself forward as a replacement fighter.
However, Jake is trying to tempt rival and Logan Paul’s business partner KSI into a tear-up.
On X, he wrote: “KSI’s coach saying he is over 200lbs right now? So no weight excuses…
“Let’s run it for July 20th and then Paul Tyson in October / November.”
