It was one of the most emotional moments of the ceremony.
According to the Daily Mail, Travis Kelce appeared visibly nervous as he stood at the altar to marry Taylor Swift—but one heartfelt promise during his vows reportedly left the bride in tears.
A source claimed that Swift became emotional when Kelce vowed to “protect her forever,” describing it as one of the most touching moments of the ceremony.
“Taylor looked tearful during a part in the vows where he promised to protect her forever,” the insider told the outlet.
The source added that although the Kansas City Chiefs star appeared “nervous” before exchanging vows, he ultimately “kept it together” throughout the emotional moment.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot on Friday evening in front of more than 1,000 guests during a lavish ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
Following the wedding, Good Morning America co-host—and guest at the ceremony—George Stephanopoulos also shared additional details about the couple’s heartfelt vows.
George Stephanopoulos later shared more details about the emotional exchange, telling an ABC reporter that the vows were “everything you would hope for,” describing them as “real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving.”
During Saturday morning’s broadcast of Good Morning America, the veteran anchor revealed that both Swift and Kelce read their vows from small handwritten books while standing at the altar.
According to reports, each of their vows lasted around 20 minutes, making the ceremony one of the most personal and emotional moments of the day.
The star-studded celebration also featured performances from music legends Stevie Nicks and Sir Paul McCartney, while guests were treated to a lavish raffle with luxury prizes, including Chanel and Dior saddle bags, Cartier watches, and other high-end gifts.
Comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony and, according to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, shared a simple but heartfelt piece of marriage advice with the newlyweds.
“He said kiss every chance you get — every chance you have, every single day,” Reid, 68, told CNN. “So whether you’re going to bed or going to work … go ahead and kiss her.”
AMC CEO Adam Aron later shared additional details in a social media post that was subsequently deleted, revealing that the actor who officiated the ceremony—widely understood to be Adam Sandler—“talked and sang and talked” throughout the service.
Aron also praised the couple’s vows, describing them as “long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations.”
According to the businessman, the vows reflected on “how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families as one and [their] commitment to their new mutual life together.”
