A years-old post now adds a surprising twist.

The armed man who stepped up during a deadly shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, has become the focus of the whole country. While police have not officially shared his name, many sources have identified him as Jordan Salinas, a Twin Falls local and gun lover.

The shooting left at least three people dead and seven others hurt on Saturday afternoon. Leaders also confirmed the shooter’s death, though officials have not said if he was included in the reported deaths. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said police are still working to identify the shooter and find a reason.

Video taken from a passing car showed a man with a handgun moving toward the gunman holding a rifle. He fired several shots, ducked for cover, and moved forward as the shooting kept going.

The attention surrounding Salinas grew after people linked him to a Facebook account that appears to be his. The account lists Twin Falls as his hometown and features several posts about firearms and shooting practice.

One post from October 2024 has drawn particular interest. In the video, Salinas trains with what appears to be a suppressed FN Five-seveN handgun. Alongside the clip, he wrote, “Train like your life depends on it. Because God forbid, one day it might. Stay free, stay safe and stay frosty.”

Many people noted that Salinas seemed to hold the same gun in the training video that people later saw him use during the attack at the shop.

Witnesses described a wild scene. Lane Koehn said he sat at a nearby red light when he saw the gunman holding an AR-style rifle near the drive-thru. He then saw a man with a handgun take on the shooter. Koehn also saw a restaurant worker drag a hurt person across the parking lot before police told people to leave the area.

Authorities have not publicly confirmed Salinas’ part. However, reports show that he made it through the fight with no injuries. His most recent Facebook post, dated July 6, celebrated the right to carry guns during events for the 250th birthday of American freedom.

For now, a training post shared nearly two years ago now sits at the heart of a real-life act that may have helped save lives.
