Jake Paul’s promotion MVP deny ‘100 per cent false’ rumour circulating after Mike Tyson fight postponement
MVP released a statement on social media clarifying the rumours following the postponement of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.
Most Valuable Promotions have released a statement completely denying a rumour following the postponement of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.
The upcoming heavyweight showdown between Paul and Tyson has been postponed after the boxing legend’s scare on a flight.
He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare and received urgent medical attention.
A few days after his incident, Paul’s promotion released a statement confirming the fighter’s bout against Tyson on July 20 was cancelled.
Fresh concerns have been raised over Tyson’s wellbeing as the Texas Department of License and Regulation are monitoring the former world heavyweight champion before making a decision on a rearranged bout.
The undercard of Paul vs. Tyson has also been thrown into doubt, which included a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano as well as Darren Till’s boxing debut.
It had been reported that Taylor vs. Serrano 2 would be moved to Frankfurt, Germany, later this year, per a source in the Irish fighter’s camp.
However, MVP have dismissed claims that the second meeting between Taylor and Serrano will take place in Germany.
On X, the promotional company tweeted: “Reports of Taylor Serrano 2 taking place in Germany are 100% false.”
The first clash between Taylor and Serrano drew a massive crowd of 19,187 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring female lightweight world titles were on the line as Taylor scored a unanimous decision victory.
Taylor then beat Karen Carabajal before surrendering her world titles to Chantelle Cameron, who stunned the star.
But she exacted revenge in their subsequent meeting, regaining the belts in the process.
Serrano, meanwhile, has won four fights in a row since her defeat to the 37-year-old, beating Sarah Mahfoud, Erika Cruz, Heather Hardy and Danila Ramos.
