On November 6, it was confirmed that Donald Trump managed to secure victory over his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, setting the stage for his second term in office as the 47th President of the United States.
This marks a massive milestone for the 78-year-old, as he has become the second person in US history to reclaim the office after losing his first bid for re-election, even alongside all the controversies surrounding him, including his criminal convictions.
Many have taken to social media platforms to react to the historic win, however, NFL star Travis Kelce’s post is seemingly getting more traction than most.

The star received hundreds of comments, with some slamming him for posting something like the entire state of the country had not just shifted.
“Read the room! This is basic,” one user wrote, while another agreed stating: “omg travis… read the room!!! cancelled.”
Another added: “Travis! Not right now.”
A third commented: “Typical white male action! Posting a self-celebration at this time.”
However, not everyone was on the same page with this one.
“It blows my mind that some of you think he shouldn’t be posting about his football game today because the election didn’t go how you wanted. This is a football player’s page, not a political page,” this user argued.
And another person branded those complaining as “too sensitive.”
While Kelce, who has never explicitly addressed his political views, may not have addressed the situation, a handful of other celebrities did.
Singer Billie Eilish posted a brief yet powerful statement on her Instagram Stories.
“It’s a war on women,” the 22-year-old, who proudly endorsed Harris on multiple occasions, wrote.

Fellow pop star Ariana Grande also posted a message to her Stories, stating: “Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of the outcome today.”
Selena Gomez also joined the chorus of voices reacting to Trump’s victory, opting for a cryptic yet powerful quote on her Instagram Stories penned by feminist Audre Lorde: “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.”
Under the quote, Gomez added her own words, writing: “My heart is heavy today.”

Actress Christina Applegate also took to X to vent, revealing that her daughter had been left feeling overwhelmed over the result.
“Why? Give me your reasons why????? My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me,” she wrote before adding: “Unfollow me because what you did is unreal,” she wrote. “Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done.
“Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick,” she concluded.
Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years…

Fans questioned what other platforms they can follow the star on, to which she responded stating: “Nowhere. Come morning all fan sites will be gone because of this piece of human garbage.”
Lili Reinhart, one of the stars of the Netflix show Riverdale, addressed the claims of sexual assault against the new 47th president.
“I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump,” she wrote. “Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”
