The tragic incident occurred shortly after the plane announced the gender with a plume of smoke
A couple’s gender reveal party turned into a nightmare when a plane tragically crashed near to the celebrations.
The party, which was taking place in San Pedro, Sinaloa, Mexico last year, was in full swing when the plane – which was revealing the gender to the family – came down.

A video shared on social media shows the couple standing in front of a balloon arch as friends and family stood by to watch the plane fly past.
As the plane approached the party, a flume of pink smoke appeared, revealing to the couple they were having a baby girl.
Family and friends could be heard shrieking with joy as they celebrated the news.
However, the plane appeared unsteady, and moments later, the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee aircraft nosedived due to an issue with one of the wings.
It spiralled out of control and crashed in a nearby field.

The gender reveal party guests continued to celebrate the happy news, seemingly unaware the aircraft had just crashed.
One concerned partygoer ended up calling the emergency services, who responded to the incident.
Mexican news outlet Línea Directa Portal revealed the pilot had been named as 32-year-old Luis Ángel.
He was rushed to the Mexican Social Security Institute after the crash, however, he sadly died.
The Aviation Safety Network said the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee crashed after the ‘left-hand wing failed after an emergency hopper release of (pink dyed) water during a gender reveal party’.
The crash sparked a debate about gender reveal parties and the lengths people go to.

Back in 2022, a couple in Brazil has found themselves at the centre of a social media storm after they used a waterfall to reveal the sex of their baby.
The parents – along with 50 of their closest family and friends – could be seen stood next to a bright blue waterfall, after finding out they would be having a baby boy.
The waterfall feeds into the Queima-Pe River and is the main water source for the nearby city of Tangara da Serra in Brazil.
Livid locals flooded social media to accuse the family of triggering an environmental disaster in the river.
Environmental engineer Vanessa Costa said: “Congratulations. You will be the parents of a beautiful environmental crime.”
After the videos went viral on social media, the Secretary of State for the Environment of Mato Grosso (SEMA) released a statement to confirm that an investigation into the incident was underway.
Meanwhile, in 2020, a wildfire in California that destroyed more than 7,000 acres of land was started by a ‘pyrotechnic device’ used for a photo opportunity at a gender reveal party.
