Fair warning: this story might be upsetting for die-hard Taylor Swift fans, especially those who would do just about anything to get their hands on a guitar connected to the artist who has created so many beloved songs.
They do this by offering scholarships, animal and ag mechanics project grants, and purchasing projects at the Ellis County Youth Expo.
Among the items up for bid was, according to their Facebook page, a “guitar autographed by country music star Taylor Swift.”
The guitar was donated by a group called “WGB Sponsors,” and a plain brown guitar was featured in a Facebook photo.
When the guitar went up for auction, one man started bidding on it.
He wasn’t interested in hanging the guitar on his wall or preserving it as a piece of memorabilia.
Instead, once the guitar was handed to him, he grabbed a hammer and began smashing it to pieces right then and there.

Swift recently endorsed Kamala Harris, which could have rubbed him the wrong way.
Whatever his reasoning, the man’s actions sparked a wide range of reactions on social media.
One Twitter user noted, “It doesn’t affect Taylor Swift and he just lost $4,000.”
Another added, “Imagine spending $4k on a guitar when there’s literally an emergency situation on the east coast. That $4K could have helped a lot of other people instead of some collector.”
