Pamela Anderson, 57, responds after Liam Neeson, 72, admits he’s ‘madly in love with her’

Pamela Anderson has spoken out after Liam Neeson declared that he was “madly in love with her” during an interview.

This would be the power couple of the century.

The pair are set to star in a reboot of the Naked Gun together, and it appears their time on set has led to a mutual admiration.

In this new installment, Anderson takes on the role of a “femme fatale” opposite Neeson, who portrays Frank Drebin Jr., presumed to be the son of Leslie Nielsen’s iconic character, Frank Drebin.

Neeson, 72, recently sat down with PEOPLE where he confessed his love for 57-year-old Anderson.

“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” the Taken star began.

He continued: “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

Neeson further explained that he adores Anderson’s comedic skills, but is less sure of his own.

Anderson, however, has full confidence in her co-star.

“It was hard to keep a straight face in scenes together,” she said, describing Neeson as “humble” and “the perfect gentleman.”

She added: “He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness, and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him.”

Their camaraderie on set extended beyond the scenes, with both stars exchanging thoughtful gestures.

Anderson recalled that Neeson “sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold.”

In return, she baked him bread and cookies, leaving them in his dressing room as a token of appreciation.

The reboot, directed by Saturday Night Live alum Akiva Schaffer, also stars Paul Walter Hauser and Danny Huston.

Neeson’s connection to the project came through producer Seth MacFarlane, his co-star in A Million Ways to Die in the West, who approached him with the idea.

“They are going to reboot it, would you be interested?” MacFarlane asked, to which Neeson replied: “Yeah, I would actually.”

While Neeson has become synonymous with action roles since his breakout in Taken, he is ready to try his hand at comedy before planning to retire from action films in 2025.

In terms of any blossoming romances between Anderson and Neeson, it seems like it’s platonic love at the moment.

Neeson’s affectionate words about Anderson come after the actor revealed he is no longer seeking a romantic relationship.

Following the tragic loss of his wife, actress Natasha Richardson, in 2009, Neeson had a brief relationship with PR executive Freya St. Johnston.

He has since kept his love life private, telling PEOPLE: “I’m past all that.”
