Well, look no further – because viewers have been praising Netflix’s latest thriller, produced by legendary horror filmmaker Sam Raimi.

The mastermind producer – known for turning horror on its head – is back nearly a decade after his 2016 success Don’t Breathe, with another high-concept horror-thriller that offers a fresh take on the cat-and-mouse thriller trope with a chilling twist.

Debuting on Netflix earlier this week, the movie has skyrocketed to the number 2 spot on the streaming platform – and viewers have taken to social media to hail the movie as the “best horror movie of the year”.

Warning: Although we won’t be sharing any spoilers for Don’t Move, we will be discussing details about the plot. Check out the trailer below:

Don’t Move introduces us to Iris (played by Kelsey Asbille), a woman engulfed in grief after the loss of her son.

However, her life takes a bizarre turn when a stranger walks into her life. Instead of a comforting hand, he injects her with a “special relaxant”, setting a timer on her mobility.

Iris learns she has 20 minutes before her body succumbs to the drug’s paralyzing effects, which are temporary but debilitating. The real terror begins as she must outwit her captor before she’s completely immobilized.

Directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, Don’t Move keeps viewers on the edge of their seats as Iris encounters a series of harrowing obstacles, all while trying to attract help as her body begins to shut down.

Asbille delivers a nuanced portrayal of Iris, navigating through her character’s physical limitations with a raw intensity that captures the desperation of her plight. Opposite her, Finn Wittrock plays the menacing ‘Richard’, whose chilling performance makes him a formidable foe.

And after watching the movie, viewers have been taking to X to praise the movie.
