Woman Ends Up Sitting Next To Notorious Serial Killer On Flight And Her Reaction Goes Viral

A woman who ended up sitting next to a notorious serial killer on a flight reacted in a truly iconic way.

It’s the stuff of nightmares.

Imagine boarding a long-haul flight, looking at who’s sitting next to you, and seeing a convicted serial killer.

Well, for one poor woman, that nightmare became a reality.

However, her hilarious reaction to the horrifying situation has since gone viral

“I would also be looking a little scared if I found out I was seated next to a serial killer on a long haul flight to Paris,” writes one user.

“Look at how the ladies next to him are feeling. Petrified!” another sympathizes.

“Lady to his left looks thrilled to be there,” another sarcastic commenter writes.

Another laughs: “Looks like the lady sitting next to him is not feeling great about her seat selection.”

“That awkward moment when you realize you’re sitting next to a serial killer who claimed at least 30 lives,” a further commenter adds.

The serial killer in question is Charles Sobhraj, who was linked to the murders of many Western tourists walking the ‘Hippie Trail’ of South East Asia in the 1970s.

As per the Bangkok Times: “He was nicknamed “The Serpent” because of his snake-like ability to avoid detection by authorities. He traveled to many countries while stationed in Bangkok and had a partner who was madly in love with him and helped him murder his victims who were all Western backpackers.”

Sobhraj became a household name after the Netflix documentary The Serpent documented his killing spree.

He was convicted of his crimes and jailed in India from 1976 to 1997, and was then rearrested in Nepal in 2003 where he was given a life sentence.

But on 21 December 2022, the Supreme Court of Nepal ordered Sobhraj’s release from prison because of his old age.

According to AFP (Agence France-Presse), the top court freed him on health grounds, ruling that continuing to keep him in prison would be a Human Rights infringement, as per the Quint.

This meant that in late 2022, Sobhraj was deported back to France on a long-haul flight.

But horrifyingly, this meant one unlucky passenger had a rather scary and notorious seatmate!

Sobhraj took Qatar Airways flight QR647 from Doha to France and looked fairly nondescript in a flat cap and waterproof jacket.

However, the woman sitting next to him seemed to know exactly who he was and hit him with a brutal side-eye.
