Netflix’s ‘best show’ has fans threatening to cancel their subscriptions if it ever goes away.
The Netflix original series has been a huge success on the platform, with many viewers bingeing it in one night.
Season one of the show has been top-rated and ranked second on Netflix’s top 10, with 10.3 million views in its debut week.
Despite the series only being released last month, fans have already been desperate for another season.
One person writes: “If Netflix leaves us on that cliffhanger, I will cancel my subscription for good. I need to know what happens next.”
Another adds: “I really need season two now, this is the best show ever on Netflix.”
“I just finished season one and I need season two immediately,” a third user comments.
One viewer responds: “And Netflix don’t even think about making me wait until 2026 for a second season, I need it on my desk by mid-2025.”
“I need season two now, I want it. I need it!” a fifth watcher replies.
Erin Foster and her sister Sara created the popular show.
They are also the hosts of The World’s First Podcast and have starred in the reality TV parody series Barely Famous.
The series is personal to the siblings and created from their own life experiences, which is perhaps why such a large audience has resonated with the themes without the program.
In an interview with, Harper Bazaar, Erin said: “I would say that the best writing comes from personal experience because you can speak to a unique perspective that you have in the situation.”
Not only have fans fallen in love with the Foster sister’s incredible storytelling but also the acting in the show.
So it is no surprise that the cast comprises some of Hollywood’s favorite actors, including Critics Choice Award winner Kristen Bell, famous for her roles in the hit series The Good Place, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Disney’s Frozen.
Bell acts alongside Adam Brody, most popular for his roles in The O.C. and Jennifer’s Body.
Not only do fans love the concept of the show but they’ve also enjoyed seeing the natural chemistry between Bell and Brody.
For fans, it has made the show feel much more realistic and people are seriously able to resonate with the on-screen romance.
The Netflix original series has not only become a fan favorite but has also received high praise from critics.
With a score of 8/10 on IMDb and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is safe to say the series has impressed all.
Sophie Butcher of the Empire Magazine wrote: “Kristen Bell and Adam Brody’s authentic chemistry, a funny and moving script, and its ability to deliver memorable romantic moments make Nobody Wants This a thoroughly entertaining way to spend a weekend.”
“This brings real stakes to the table. It’s a romcom with heft, in other words. What’s not to love about that?” Karl Quinn from The Age reviews.
Dan Elnav from the Financial Times adds:” The show leans into such stereotypes might have been grating were it not done with such affection and genuine good humor.”
The series plot reads: “An agnostic s** podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love, but can their relationship survive their wildly different lives and meddling families?”
The show is based upon Erin’s real-life experience after she fell in love with a Jewish man and since converted to Judaism for love.
In an interview with Harpers Bazaar Erin shared about her converting to Judaism: “When I went through the process and went to the converting classes at Wilshire Boulevard Temple, it was this really fascinating, expansive, cool world.”
“What was interesting for the purposes of a show was how similar it seemed like our lives were, but then, when we dug into it, how different they really were,” Erin continued.
Netflix has announced that Nobody Wants This has been renewed for a second season and fans of the rom-com series can’t wait.
As reported by Deadline, creator and executive producer Erin will remain its ‘creative voice,’ but Girls Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan will join as showrunners.
Konner shared it’s a ‘dream’ ‘ to now be working on the show, saying: “Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show.”
The second season of Nobody Wants This is likely to arrive in September 2025, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
