The legendary actor and comedian will be back on our screens very soon
Legendary comedian Peter Kay is set to make his on-screen comeback this Christmas in a film airing on both the BBC and Netflix.
Arguably Manchester’s most famous comedian, Kay, 51, made his name in the world of stand-up before transitioning into acting, appearing in British classics such as Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere.
However, Kay would abruptly go on hiatus after cancelling a tour in 2017, citing ‘unforeseen family circumstances’ as the reason.

After several sporadic appearances over the years, the actor and comedian made his return to the limelight in November 2022, announcing a three year stand-up tour.
Kay has also been busy reacquainting himself with the world of acting as well, as he is now confirmed to be joining forces with another iconic duo of British television for their new Christmas film.
Yep that’s right, Kay is returning to the world of claymation for upcoming film Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
The comedian will be reprising the role of Chief Inspector Macintosh in the film, starring alongside Ben Whitehead, who is known for being the voice behind Wallace, while Reece Shearsmith and Lauren Patel will be voicing new characters. Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh and Lenny Henry are also set to appear in cameo roles.
Vengeance Most Fowl isn’t just a comeback for Kay either, with the stop-motion movie being the first Wallace and Gromit feature length production since The Curse of the Were-Rabbit 19 years ago.
A synopsis for the film confirms that Wallace and Gromit will find themselves having to battle ‘sinister forces’ once again, after a ‘smart gnome’ created by Wallace develops an evil mind of its own.
Things aren’t all as they seem either as a ‘vengeful figure from the past’ appears to be masterminding things from the shadows.

“It falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master,” the synopsis adds. “Or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”
As for the identity of the mysterious villain, it’s none other than known nemesis Feathers McGraw.
The film will be available to watch on BBC One and iPlayer this Christmas Day, before premiering on Netflix internationally in early 2025.
Meanwhile, Kay is currently in the middle of his massive comeback comedy tour, which is set to run until July 2025.
