The most-expensive player in the history of Fantasy Premier League revealed ahead of new season
A crazy record has been broken.
Erling Haaland continues to break records even when he’s not on the pitch, as he has become the most expensive player in Fantasy Football history for the 24/25 season.
Fantasy football is one of the most popular hobbies of football fans across the world, as players build the best possible team and compete with friends to score the most points over a season.
Each player is handed a value by Fantasy Premier League ahead of the new season, with their price based on their likelihood to score points on a weekly basis.
Players are handed a £100m budget to build their team of a starting 11 and substitutes.
Points in Fantasy Football are scored through goals, assists, and clean sheets, but defenders and midfielders will receive more points than forwards for goal contributions.
With the new season just around the corner, the latest prices have been revealed and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland will not come cheap…
The Premier League’s top scorer will be available for a staggering £15m, which breaks the previous record for the most expensive player in the game’s history.
Haaland scored 217 points in FPL last season which is actually less than the 272 points he scored in his debut season, but the consistency he has demonstrated as well as avoiding international commitments this summer could be factors in the price rise.
The decision to raise the Norwegian’s price was partly explained via the FPL website: “Haaland’s price doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. His ownership at the end of the 23/24 season was 73 percent, more than 21 percent more than any other player.”
“His £15.0m tag is £1.0m more than the previous record, shared jointly between himself, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robin van Persie.”

Despite Haaland taking up 15% of a player’s budget, it has not deterred users from keeping him in their side.
One FPL fanatic wrote: “I’ll definitely have him, it’s a tactical error not to have Haaland on Fantasy and even though his price this season is extortionate not having him would be a massive disadvantage.”
