After Team USA champion figure skater Alysa Liu won big during the recent Olympics, right-wingers were quick to try to claim her as their own, ride her coattails in a display of patriotic dominance, and also were incredibly creepy about her physical appearance.
Well, we’ve got some bad news for those weird losers, because – breaking news – the 20-year-old woman from California has declared she is a diehard liberal.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Liu spoke of her father’s passion and how it’s guided her own journey into political activism.
“He’s so into politics, like, kind of my whole family is as well. like the ideology of, um, like to fight for what’s right. Um, and like speak up and like basic human rights, stuff like that. Um, so that our family is pretty liberal and like, I would say thanks to my father. We’re just like proud of his story.”
“We’re outspoken to just like he was, I would say. I mean, he was like really outspoken at whole other level. Me and my family would go to protests and my best friend, uh their family is also really involved with politics.”
“Sometimes we’ll call like our policymakers. We write like little letters. I remember when we were kids, we would do this a lot. But yeah, mostly protest, donations to like little stuff here and there.
“What are things that you’ve protested or what are things you’ve called your congressperson about?” asks the interviewer.
“A lot of climate stuff. But mostly like, like election things, Black Lives Matter, like Stop Asian Hate, ICE protests, and yeah, a ton of, a ton of that stuff,” replies Liu.
It is so sick of the MAGA crowd to constantly try to tear down women, to strip away their rights and uplift rapists and demean women athletes…until they win something for America, and then all of a sudden they’re national heroes.
Let this be a lesson to you, parents: raise your girls to be liberals, and they’ll be Olympic superstars.
Raise them to be MAGA, and watch them end up like Riley Gaines, who came in 5th place in a race when she was in college and then spent the entire rest of her life whining about it.
