If you’re one of the millions of people that tuned in for Netflix’s hit new rom-com series, you’ll be delighted to know that it has been renewed for a second season.
Starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, the 10-episode romcom series follows a newly single rabbi, Noah (Brody), and an agnostic sex podcaster, Joanne (Bell), who fall in love despite leading different lives.
The series has been lauded by critics and fans alike for its heartfelt plot, witty comedy, and palpable chemistry between its two leads, arguably blessing us with the romcom renaissance we were desperately in need of.
Just two weeks after its first season aired on September 26, the series – called Nobody Wants This – is officially getting a second season with new showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan at the helm. Erin Foster, who created the series, will remain onboard as an executive producer.
The renewal was announced by Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in Los Angeles, where it was also revealed that the writing for season two of Nobody Wants This is currently underway.

“I am excited beyond belief to be a part of season two of Nobody Wants This, created by the hilarious Erin Foster,” Kaplan, who previously worked on HBO’s hit series Girls alongside Konner, shared as per Variety. “It is such a unique and beautiful show and I am already having the best time working on it.”
Nobody Wants This has comfortably sat atop Netflix’s Top 10 English language TV chart since it premiered, grossing 15.9 million views in its first full week and swiftly leaving fans wanting more.
Massive spoiler alert ahead if you for some reason still haven’t inhaled the show from start to finish yet but…
Season one concludes on an open-ended note where Noah and Joanne recognize that their differences may be too much for their relationship, and that one of them is going to have to make a huge change to make it work.
While it seems that Noah may be willing to give up a head rabbi job to be with Joanne, the series ends right before we actually get any answers on what he’s decided to do next.
Considering its cliff-hanger, fans are currently overjoyed that Nobody Wants This is getting a second season with one user writing on Twitter: “Best news ever made my day honestly.”
Another user noted the perfect plan to do in the meantime writing: “Woohoo!! Hot rabbi is coming back! Plenty of time to revisit Seth Cohen in The O.C. before Nobody Wants This Season 2 comes out!”
Do it Seth Cohen/Adam Brody truthers. Do it.
