The Line will stretch 110 miles from the Red Sea
NEOM has plans to build a $186 million concrete factory in order to power construction for The Line.
The Line is set to be a city that exists along, well, one long straight line located in Saudi Arabia.
It is planned that The Line will eventually be a whopping 110 miles long, stretching all the way from the Red Sea to the city of Tabuk.

The Line will be split into 135 different connected communities called modules.
It is set to be a city powered entirely by renewable energy and will house around nine million residents.
As of 2022, construction is underway, with excavation happening along the whole length of the project.
And now NEOM is planning to build a concrete factory just for The Line that will use carbon capture and energy-efficient resources to power it.
The firm announced that it has entered a partnership with a Saudi construction and engineering company that will play a vital role in the construction of The Line.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, who is the CEO of NEOM, revealed that the launch of multiple concrete plants is yet another indication of the swift advancements taking place at NEOM.

NEOM’s Chief Executive Officer, Nadhmi Al Nasr, said: “These concrete plants mark yet another milestone in NEOM’s rapid progress. This partnership showcases the strength of the Kingdom’s construction sector and highlights the pivotal role of local collaborations in advancing this transformative project with sustainability at its core.”
The new factory has a fleet of support vehicles that will be able to assist with the construction project and is due to begin its operations as early as next month.
It’s thought that major production will start in 2025 and could create over 500 jobs locally.
And it looks like work is rapidly underway as 30,000 foundation piles will need to be installed along The Line and 1,000 of them have already been completed.

“We are committed to sustainable practices that align with Vision 2030’s goals of empowering the manufacturing sector and driving the Kingdom’s broader development objectives.”
It is hoped that the first section of The Line, which is 1.5 miles long, will be finished by 2030 and will house around 300,000 people.
