It is common knowledge that World War Three would be detrimental for all of the approximately 8.2 million individuals inhabiting this planet.
The potential for nuclear warfare in an era where humanity’s weaponry has surpassed rationality is indeed alarming – and yet, it seems we are progressing towards this fate, albeit at a slow pace.
As global tensions continue to escalate each month, one might question how those in power can avert a conflict of unprecedented scale. There exists a possibility that reason will triumph and no one will provoke a war that could lead to our collective demise, but there is also a significant risk that a misguided individual may make a hasty choice, thereby endangering the majority of the Earth’s population.
Considering this, it is prudent to be aware of locations to avoid should World War III occur. Given the extraordinary destructive power of modern missiles, no place on Earth is entirely secure if the superpowers choose to engage in hostilities.
Nevertheless, certain areas are undoubtedly more perilous than others. Based on an analysis by the Daily Express, the following are the six locations that would be the most hazardous to inhabit or visit in the event of a global conflict.
The U.S.
No surprises here. If World War III were to occur, it is highly probable that the United States would be involved. In fact, considering Trump’s unpredictable governance style and increasingly concerning strategies, it is plausible that actions taken by the U.S. could initiate such a conflict.
It is safe to conclude that avoiding the United States may be wise, especially if the U.S. finds itself opposing another superpower on the battlefield.
One expert has even taken the initiative to outline the 15 U.S. cities that would be most vulnerable to targeting in the event of a war.
Iran
Last year, the U.S. conducted bombings in Iran after allegations surfaced regarding the country’s development of nuclear materials. Additionally, missiles were launched towards Israel, and the Trump administration has recently issued warnings of potential military action if Iran does not stabilize its current political turmoil.
Israel
Given their protracted conflict with Palestine, along with the previously mentioned missile attack from Iran last year, tensions are currently exceedingly high.
While Israel may not be as likely to become embroiled in a World War as the U.S. or Russia, it is certainly not the safest location to be.
Russia
Another quite evident situation. Russia has been engaged in conflict with Ukraine since its invasion in 2022, and its aggressive posture remains unyielded.
Vladimir Putin, along with other senior Russian officials, has consistently warned that their nation is ready for any conflict, whether it be with the United States or NATO as a collective.
Taiwan
Taiwan continues to face a significant threat of invasion from China. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has expressed its desire to ‘reunify’ the two nations, with President Xi Jinping stating in 2021 that the ‘reunification’ of China and Taiwan is imperative.
In his recent New Year’s address, President Xi emphasized this point, asserting: “The reunification of our motherland, a trend of the times, is unstoppable.”
In simple terms, should a World War erupt, China may swiftly attempt to subjugate Taiwan. It is advisable to avoid being present when this occurs.
North Korea
This may be considered somewhat unpredictable given their international reputation (and the fact that the likelihood of encountering North Korea in the near future is exceedingly low), yet North Korea has maintained an alliance with Russia for several years and is rumored to have dispatched troops to support them in Ukraine.
If North Korea were to become involved in any capacity in World War III, it would be prudent to keep a safe distance.
