President Donald Trump suffered a stroke last year and has gone to lengths to hide it from the US public, according to one doctor’s claim.
Professor Bruce Davidson from Washington State University asserts that he possesses evidence to support his surprising claim, as reported by the Daily Beast, indicating that he believes the current President of the United States experienced a significant health scare several months prior.
Professor Davidson, a medical authority affiliated with the college of medicine at Washington State University, contends that there are multiple indicators that substantiate his assertion, even going as far as to specify which side of Trump’s brain was allegedly impacted by the supposed stroke.
Doctor asserts that Donald Trump suffered a stroke.
“I believe his stroke occurred on the left side of the brain, which governs the right side of the body,” Davidson stated during a podcast episode of The Court of History, hosted by biographer Sidney Blumenthal and Princeton historian Sean Wilentz.
He further elaborated: “I suspect the stroke happened six months ago or even earlier in 2025.
“There are recordings of him shuffling his feet, which contrasts with the previous images of him walking confidently on the golf course.

“We have observed him with his right hand supported by his left.
Earlier in 2025, he exhibited incoherent speech, a behavior he had not previously displayed, although he has shown improvement in this area more recently.”
The WSU professor also highlighted Trump’s noticeable hypersomnolence, which Davidson characterizes as “significant instances of excessive daytime drowsiness.” The professor notes that Trump’s tendency to doze off during public events at the White House (there have been multiple such alleged occurrences lately) is a concern that frequently affects individuals who have suffered a stroke.
As if that were not sufficient, Davidson further speculated on video evidence of Trump exiting Air Force One while gripping the handrail with his left hand, despite being right-handed. The professor asserts that this behavior is ‘indicative of having experienced a stroke on the left hemisphere of the brain.’”

Obviously short of Trump announcing the bombshell news himself, there’s no way of knowing one way or the other if the claim is legitimate, but Davidson did admit that if his assertion is correct, the President “looks like he’s had significant recovery.”
Trump’s health
One aspect that is undeniably clear is the significant attention recently directed towards Trump’s purported declining health. Members of his administration have had to clarify why the 79-year-old has often been seen in public with noticeable bruises – which he has attempted to hide with makeup – while his sporadic, disjointed rants on Truth Social have been leveraged by critics to suggest that he may be undergoing some form of cognitive deterioration.
Concerns were also voiced online following Trump’s participation in an event commemorating the anniversary of 9/11, where it was reported that the President’s face appeared to droop on one side. At that time, online speculation proposed that this could indicate a recent stroke, although it is important to emphasize that no official diagnosis has been confirmed.
In a recent episode of Katie Miller’s podcast, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. commented on Trump’s dietary habits, expressing his astonishment that the president is still alive.
“The intriguing aspect of the president is that he consumes extremely unhealthy food, such as McDonald’s, along with candy and Diet Coke,” RFK remarked.
“However, he consistently drinks Diet Coke. He possesses the constitution of a deity. I am unsure how he is still alive, but he is.”
Reiterating his assertions that the POTUS experienced a stroke last year, Davidson further stated during his earlier appearance on The Court of History podcast that Trump’s aggressive, unpredictable, and erratic governing style during his second term in the White House could reflect behavioral changes typical of a stroke survivor.
“It’s a very serious, concerning, life-threatening, upsetting, and frightening occurrence, and individuals respond in various ways,” Davidson noted.
Some individuals react with humility and appreciation. Others experience euphoria—‘I was on the brink of death, and now I have returned.’ Meanwhile, some contemplate, ‘That was my opportunity to die, and I survived—therefore, I will pursue everything I have always wanted to do, as the next chance may be lethal.’
In response to these assertions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reportedly informed the Daily Beast: “As the President’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, has consistently emphasized—and as the American public observes daily—President Trump continues to be in outstanding overall health.”
She further stated: “President Trump’s unwavering work ethic, unparalleled energy, and historic accessibility sharply contrast with what we witnessed over the past four years when the failing legacy media deliberately concealed Joe Biden’s significant mental and physical deterioration from the American populace.
“Promoting these false and desperate narratives about President Trump is the reason why Americans’ trust in the media has plummeted to a new all-time low.”
