Some Netflix viewers are up in arms after a TV series broke a longstanding taboo.
TV and film standards change all time. I mean, we are probably in the golden age of the small screen, with some of the best shows ever available to us on streaming platforms.
But with those changing standards, it is easy to forget how much things have changed, what was once a big no-no for directors and screenwriters is now the norm.
Nudity is one of those big taboos that have always existed in the industry, but some shows really do push the boat out. I am sure someone out there has counted how many boobs, balls, and the rest showed up through the entire running of Game of Thrones.
However, it seems there is definitely still issues around nudity, and one of those is an ‘erect penis’.
A Netflix TV mini-series that came out earlier this year has angered and disgusted some fans by showing a man with an erect penis on screen for the final episode.
The show in question is entitled A Man in Full and actually isn’t as explicit as the title would suggest.
A Man in Full is actually about a man trying to hold on to his property empire not anything explicit(Netflix)
The premise focuses on an Atlanta real estate mogul who must battle sudden bankruptcy and his foes as his empire begins to crumble.
The show even does feature a warning for ‘sex, language, sex reference, sexual images, and injury detail’ but there isn’t a warning provided for the scene in question.
In the final episode, actor Tom Pelphrey’s character – Raymond Peepgrass – has just taken some viagra. He then drops his bedsheet in front of Jeff Daniel’s character, Charlie Croker, to reveal the results
Despite this, some people are less than impressed with the scene.
One person commented on social media: “I was totally disgusted. Absolutely uncalled for.”

“Netflix is softcore p**n,” another commented.
“That is so incredibly uncalled-for. Absolutely shameful!” a third wrote.
“No one wants to see that. Trust me NO ONE,” added another.
Radio 4 contributor Anne Atkins wrote: “Where are the boundaries now, Netflix? A visibly erect penis is not only revolting to many normal viewers but artistically completely unnecessary: a glance down, a raised eyebrow would have done far more.”
However, many other people were less bothered by the scene, noting that with streaming, a person is choosing to watch the show.
Beyond this, many countered the negative comments with their own jokes.
One person wrote: “’Fully Erect’ would it have been cool if was just like a partial chubby? Lol?”
Another added: “Imagine being terrified by a d**k simply because you saw it on Netflix rather than the hub.”
Another commented “I guess it was a HARD scene for ya’ll to watch huh…”
