$10,000.
A significant donation has been made by one of the wealthiest individuals globally to the ICE agent responsible for the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good.
This has sparked considerable outrage.
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has once again captured public attention.
His latest action involves a $10,000 contribution to a GoFundMe campaign that supports ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7.
Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, was killed just a short distance from her residence when Ross discharged his weapon during an ICE operation.
Video footage acquired by news organizations seemingly depicts her last moments. Numerous state officials have asserted that Good was serving as a legal observer — a volunteer tasked with monitoring law enforcement activities during raids and protests.
Officials have alleged that she “weaponized” her vehicle and attempted to hit the officer, while bystanders maintain that she was unarmed and did not pose any danger.

The tragedy quickly ignited outrage across the country. President Trump defended the ICE agent at the time, writing on Truth Social:
The woman who was screaming was clearly a professional troublemaker, and the woman behind the wheel was acting very chaotically, blocking and resisting, and then she brutally and intentionally ran over the ICE officer, who apparently shot her in self-defense.
Trump’s remarks sparked a quick backlash online.
“You are a horrible disgusting disgrace to humanity,” one person commented.
The Trump administration has always supported ICE and its agents since the incident. Vice President JD Vance also spoke out, saying that Good “broke the law” and was rightly shot.
Why he did it
At the same time, donations to Good’s GoFundMe skyrocketed past $1.5 million, far surpassing its $50,000 target, before it was paused.
ICE agent Jonathan Ross also started a fundraiser. Ackman confirmed the donation to Ross in a post on X, explaining his reasoning:
“I strongly believe in our legal principle that one is innocent until proven guilty. Because of this, I supported the @gofundme for Jonathan Ross and wanted to support the gofundme for Renee Good’s family (her gofundme was closed by the time I tried to help).”
Bill Ackman, who runs Pershing Square Capital Management, a hedge fund with $20 billion in investments, also shared his thoughts on the tragedy:
“The whole situation is a tragedy. An officer trying his best to do his job, and a protester who probably didn’t mean to kill the officer but whose actions in a split second caused her death. Our country is stronger if we work together to solve the complicated issues that are dividing us.”

On Saturday, many people gathered in the streets of Minneapolis for another night of protests after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot Renee Good, resulting in her death in the city.
In light of the overwhelming public support, Becca, Renee Good’s widow, shared a touching message through MPR News about her late wife and how her loss has affected their children:
“First, I want to thank everyone who has reached out from all over the country and even the world to support our family.
“This kindness from strangers is the best tribute because if you ever met my wife, Renee Nicole Macklin Good, you would know that she was the kindest person. Kindness just flowed from her.
“Renee sparkled. She really sparkled. I mean, she didn’t wear glitter, but I swear she had sparkles coming out of her skin. All the time. You might think I’m just saying that because I loved her, but her family felt the same way. Renee was like a ray of sunshine.
“Renee lived by a strong belief: there is kindness in the world, and we should do everything we can to find it and help it grow. Renee was a Christian who understood that all religions share the same important message: we are here to love one another, take care of each other, and keep each other safe and whole.
