Lisa Marie Presley had a tear-jerking reason for keeping her son on dry ice for two months after his death.
Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 in January 2023, less than four years after her son Benjamin Keough’s passing.
The mom-of-four’s cause of death was revealed as a result of a small bowel obstruction, while Benjamin – known by Ben Ben by his loved ones – died by suicide.

Lisa Marie, the only child to Elvis Presley, is survived by Daisy Jones & The Six star daughter Riley Keough and16-year-old twins Harper and Finley Lockwood.
Following her death, a memoir of Lisa Marie’s has been posthumously published. The book, titled From Here to the Great Unknown, was finished by her daughter Riley and hit shelves yesterday (October 8).
In her memoir, Lisa Marie discussed Benjamin’s untimely death in 2020 and revealed that she kept his body on dry ice for two months before laying him to rest.
“My house has a separate casitas bedroom and I kept Ben Ben in there for two months,” the late 54-year-old singer penned.
“There is no law in the state of California that you have to bury someone immediately.”
Riley went on to pen that it was ‘really important’ to her mother to ‘have ample time to say goodbye to [Benjamin], the same way she’d done with her dad’.
Lisa Marie was just nine-years-old when her music legend father died.
She continued to write in her memoir: “Having my dad in the house after he died was incredibly helpful because I could go and spend time with him and talk to him.”
They kept Benjamin’s body in a separate room at 55 degrees. During this time, Lisa Marie was trying to decide if to bury her son in Hawaii or Graceland.

The ‘Now What’ singer went on to write: “That was part of why it took so long. I got so used to him, caring for him and keeping him there. I think it would scare the living f**kng piss out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me.”
“I felt so fortunate that there was a way that I could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so that I could become okay with laying him to rest,” Lisa Marie added.
