A car crash in Nigeria sent former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua to the hospital. The British boxer suffered minor injuries in the collision. Joshua’s friend has reportedly said he is “ok but badly shaken up.”

The former two-time world heavyweight champion had been celebrating in Africa days after his high-profile fight with Jake Paul. Joshua knocked out the YouTuber-turned-boxer in six rounds in Miami.

Officials suspect Joshua’s vehicle crashed into a stationary truck after blowing a tire. Anthony Joshua sat shirtless in the back of his vehicle, wincing in pain as cameras photographed him. In a statement posted on X, the Ogun government described the incident as “deeply unfortunate and painful.”

Recovering from his injuries is one thing for the boxing legend, but his mental health might be in worse shape. He just lost two good friends with whom he will never speak again.
