Bruce Willis’ will allegedly says that he will leave his three daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore just ‘$1 million each’.
Willis, 69, is one of Hollywood’s most recognisable actors, having starred in films such as Die Hard and Pulp Fiction.
Fans were left devastated when the Red star revealed that he would be retiring from acting.
A joint statement released by Willis’ family read that the actor would be ‘stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him’ due to health issues.
It was shared that the now 69-year-old was being surrounded by ‘love, compassion and support’ following a diagnosis of aphasia.
Aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain which controls language expression and comprehension, as per Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Following the sad announcement, Willis received a ton of support from fans on social media.
One wrote: “I love every single movie he was ever in. Saying a prayer for Bruce and his family.”
Another added: “I’m saddened to hear that Bruce Willis has retired from acting at the age of 67 due to being diagnosed with aphasia.
“Let’s show some support, love and appreciation for this amazing actor.”
After it was disclosed that Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia, a further update on the star’s health was shared.
In a statement from the actor’s wife, Emma, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and five daughters, it was revealed the now 69-year-old had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Frontotemporal dementia ‘is an umbrella term for a group of brain diseases that mainly affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are associated with personality, behaviour and language’, explains Mayo Clinic.
Willis’ family continue to share updates, with the actor’s wife opening up to his fans amid his 69th birthday celebrations.
“I can make a choice. I can wallow in sorrow or I can celebrate it. I call this the ‘remarkable reframe’. What I know is there is so much to celebrate,” Emma wrote.
“Our union and connection is probably stronger than ever. We have two bright, fun and healthy daughters. We have a family unit that is built on mutual respect and admiration. And simply, I just love and adore the man I married. I’m so proud of what we have and continue to create.
“So, happy crystal anniversary to us!”
Previously, in an interview with the Today Show, Emma discussed the actor’s condition in further detail – sharing that it was ‘hard to know’ whether the actor was aware of his health issues.
She went on to say: “I think it was the blessing and the curse, to finally understand what was happening, so I can be into the acceptances of what it is.
“It doesn’t make it any less painful but just being in the acceptance, and being in the know of what is happening to Bruce, makes it a little bit easier.”
Amid Willis’ FTD diagnosis, it appears that the actor was looking into the future and making some serious decisions.
Radar Online alleges that the star revised his will days before his rare brain disease was diagnosed.
The outlet claims Willis wants to ensure that his ‘young family’, which includes his daughters Mabel Ray, 11, and Evelyn Penn, 9, with wife Emma are ‘taken care of’ – so the majority of the star’s net worth will go to them.
While Willis’ older daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, will reportedly receive $1 million each.
A source close to the actor explains: “He believes Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah have gotten the best of what he has to offer financially throughout their lives.”
The outlet says that the Armageddon star is confident that his three eldest kids are comfortable supporting themselves financially as they have each started to carve out a career.
Rumer is a working actress who stars largely in independent movies, Scout is making a name for herself as a singer-songwriter. Meanwhile, Tallulah has branched out into the fashion industry.
Willis is reportedly assured that Moore will also be there to help their three daughters.
