People are convinced that the rapture is coming today (September 23), so here’s what would happen, as well as the signs to look out for.
The day the world ends has long been predicted, and so far, it’s seemingly never been proven right.
But Christians around the world believe that today could actually be the day, with some going as far as quitting their jobs and selling their car.
Because let’s be real, you can’t take it with you.
Many believe that the ‘rapture’ is the moment when Jesus Christ returns to Earth, and all the true believers, whether living or dead, are taken up to meet God.
But why is everyone so convinced that today is the day?

A South African man named Joshua Mhlakela has claimed that either today or tomorrow is the moment, and his words are doing the rounds on TikTok.
He’s claimed that God is set to ‘rescue the Christians out of the world’ on 23 and 24 September, and that the world will apparently be left ‘unrecognisable.’
In more detail, the bodies of dead believers in Christ will allegedly be resurrected, and they, along with the living believers, will go up into the sky to meet God.
But what does it mean for non-believers?
Well it’s not exactly great news.
According to scripture, during the ‘rapture,’ non-believers will be sentenced to a lifetime of ‘everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.’
Isaiah 60:12 reads: “Every nation and kingdom that does not serve the Lord will perish and will be utterly wasted.”
So it’s not looking good for the 71% of the world’s population who aren’t Christians.

Signs to look out for include an increase in ‘false’ messiahs, an increase in warfare, and increases in famines, plagues, and natural disasters.
It’s all supposed to end after the rapture with the ‘second coming’ of Jesus, at least for the people who got raptured up out of the world to avoid the chaos down below.
Mhlakela also alleged that the rapture would happen with ‘such power’ that it would physically cause the Earth to ‘shake.’
“The rapture is upon us, whether you are ready or not,” he said in an interview with Innocent & Millicent Cent.
“I saw Jesus sitting on his throne, and I could hear him very loud and clear saying, ‘I am coming soon.’”
Some users on TikTok have made light of the terrifying thought, questioning whether their furry friends would be allowed to accompany them in heaven.
“I ask God all the time to please take my dogs when we’re raptured,” said one user.
