Humiliation of mother who raised Charlie Kirk’s ‘assassin’ and the moment that shattered her conservative family – Daily News

The search for Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin ended when a Utah mother recognized the shooter as her own son. FBI photos showed a man in black clothing leaving the scene of the Utah Valley University shooting. Amber Robinson immediately knew it was 22-year-old Tyler, her first-born child.

Tyler is now charged with aggravated murder and could face the death penalty if convicted. Amber, a lifelong conservative and gun owner, raised her three sons in a Mormon, pro-Trump household. Friends say Tyler once shared those views, but became more left-leaning, pro-LGBTQ, and politically outspoken in recent years.

Amber told police she noticed a troubling change in him. “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” Tyler allegedly wrote in a text before confessing. His family persuaded him to surrender peacefully after a tense standoff.

The case has left a once-proud mother shattered and asking how her bright, scholarship-winning son became a suspected political assassin.
