Fans across the world are paying tribute to a Superstore star who died on Wednesday (August 6).
Superstore is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 2015 to 2021, following a group of employees working at Cloud 9, a fictional big-box chain store.
Fans and friends alike have been left saddened to learn of one of its stars’ passing, and are paying tribute online.
Fellow actress Kelly Stables, who played Kelly on the comedy series, said: “Oh man! He was always so sweet! Rest in peace.”
Writer and producer of the show, Sierra Teller Ornelas, wrote: “Oh no, he was literally the sweetest man. Prayers up to his family and loved ones.”
While co-star Irene White commented: “What an incredible man.
“The man was truly an original. I had the pleasure and privilege of working on Superstore for a whole season and every interaction I had with this man never failed to put a smile on my face.
“He was such a kind soul. My condolences go out to his family.”

One fan highlighted just how real the show was, noting: “I am currently a manager for Walmart and this show literally shows what it is to work retail and how hard working people try to survive with retail salaries.
“And I truly love the beauty of this show. Laugh, love, and passion for the work.
“Thank you all of you for showing the good side of it!”
Another wrote: “He always cracked me up so much on that show.
“Superstore was such a comfort show for me when it came out I gotta do a rewatch soon.”
The death of Superstore star Jon Miyahara, who was 83 years old, was first announced by co-star Colton Dunn, who played Garrett in the show.

Revealing the sad news, he said: “John Miyahara, aka Brett from Superstore, has sadly passed away.
“John was a really awesome guy and as a performer could speak volumes with just a look.”
The actor added: “He was such a memorable part of the Cloud 9 team.
“It was an honor to know him and work with him.
“I was lucky enough to meet some of his family and my thoughts are with them.
“Rest in Peace John.”
Speaking to People, Miyahara’s daughter noted that the star’s wife was beside him as he tragically passed away.
“He loved working on Superstore,” his wife told the outlet.

It has been reported that paramedics were called to Miyahara’s home in Los Angeles just over a week ago, after a call was placed for an elderly man who had fallen and was in pain.
Despite the call, an official cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Police did, however, note that he was taken to a local hospital ‘awake and breathing.’
