The Stan revelation comes after the long-awaited release of Eminem’s brand new documentary Stans – where the man himself made an appearance.
The rapper’s legendary track became the epitome of 2000s swag.
The single was written about Stanley ‘Stan’ Mitchell, a father-to-be who writes Eminem countless letters, professing to be his no. 1 fan.
Throughout the music video, the fan copies all of the rapper’s iconic tendencies – wearing white vests, baggy blue jeans, and dying his hair icey blonde.
The lyrics suggest that Stan becomes increasingly agitated by Eminem’s lack of replies, so much so that he threatens to drive his pregnant girlfriend off a bridge in the third verse.
The final verse of the song hears Eminem as himself responding to Stan’s letters, urging him not to overthink the lyrics he writes.

And people are only just realizing exactly who Stan is played by in the iconic music video.
It seems that after the big role, he was able to launch a pretty successful acting career – as well as bagging the word Stan a place in the dictionary.
If you’re interested, it can be used to describe an excessively enthusiastic and devoted person to another person or thing.
The man in question is actor Devon Sawa.
Taking to Instagram this week, the dad-of-two shared a photo of his own son posing beside the 52-year-old rapper for the documentary’s premiere, which he captioned: “25 years ago I worked with one of the greatest musicians of all time.”
He added: “Today he met my son. What a ride.”
The actor has starred in films such as Final Destination, Casper, and Black Friday.
And people in the comments couldn’t believe that the actor was indeed the man who played Stan.

One said: “Shut up! I didn’t know that was him? My millennial mind is blown!”
Another wrote: “Final Destination, don’t know why I never connected the two!”
“Isn’t this the guy from Final Destination?,” a third questioned.
And, yes, he is.
Sawa played the lead role of Alex Browning in the 2000 hit, where he starred alongside the likes of Ali Larter and Seann William Scott.
Another fan noted: “I love Devon Sawa, his Instagram is silly, and he seems like a genuinely cool dude.
“He was in the Chucky series, and he is just so good in it, highly recommend!”
Dropping some more unknown lore, they added: “He also once said he wished he had married Jodie Sweeten because her name would be Jodie Sweeten-Sawa (say the name out loud, it’s funny).”
In the brand-new documentary, filmmaker Steven Leckart examines the complicated relationship between hip-hop icon Eminem and the legion of fans whose lives have been shaped by his music.
