Jamie Wilson’s female-to-male journey revealed in before and after photos – Dotnetal

Nowadays, discussions about gender identity and transitioning are more open than ever.

People who accept their true selves share their experiences, giving us a real insight into what it’s like to go through this journey. One of these individuals is Jamie Wilson — a true fighter and supporter of transgender rights.

Through his impactful female-to-male transition photos, the 28-year-old demonstrates how incredible it is to live as your true self.

Jamie Wilson is a well-known and respected figure in the transgender community. He was assigned female at birth, but in 2015, Jamie started transitioning to the gender he identifies with.

He has been receiving testosterone treatment for several years to aid this process, and his transition has been both challenging and inspiring, highlighting the difficulties that many transgender individuals encounter.

“When I came out, people wouldn’t believe I was a man because of how ‘feminine’ I had been for 18 years,” he shares.

In 2018, Jamie Wilson was becoming popular as a new folk-pop musician and a fresh model, appearing on the cover of Candy magazine and featuring in ads for the bold men’s underwear brand 2(x)ist.

But besides his music and fashion work, he’s a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. As a proud transgender man, Jamie connects with hundreds of thousands of followers on Facebook and Instagram, sharing his journey and experiences openly.

“Music can help bring people from outside the community into it,” he told the New York Times, highlighting how his art acts as a bridge for understanding and inclusion.

About a year after starting his transition, Jamie Wilson posted before-and-after photos on Facebook—some without a shirt—that quickly went viral, getting an incredible 13 million views. The post caught the eye of celebrities, with actress Ruby Rose saying he was “looking like a young Channing Tatum,” while rapper Lil Wayne just commented, “Wow.”

”That’s when it really picked up,” Wilson said.

After two years of hard work and commitment, Jamie has completely changed into the person he has always been inside.

Even with his rising popularity, Jamie, who resides in New York City, saw an unexpected change in his career. “It’s funny that people didn’t start paying attention to my music until after my transition, especially since I had to really work hard to get my singing voice back because my vocal cords changed so much,” he thought.

Having experienced gender-affirming procedures himself, he understands how emotional and physically tough the journey can be. His story resonates with many and shows how crucial it is to stay strong, be confident, and accept who you truly are.

In 2020, Jamie revealed that he no longer talks to most of his family members.

“You don’t have to agree with everything your child does, but at the end of the day, you must love your child, because they will be who they are regardless,” he mentioned.

Even though Jamie has gone through a lot and is away from his family, he really wants to keep sharing his story as a trans man.

“I think it’s super important right now. I hope that in ten years, people won’t have to deal with this like we do now. Trans rights are a big deal right now. I won’t stop talking about it until I get all the rights I deserve,” Jamie says.

Even though there has been some progress lately, trans people still face many tough situations. They often have to deal with judgment from others or have a hard time accepting who they are, which can make things really difficult.

It’s kind of funny because some people say he’s “too masculine” and that he’s “trying too hard to be like a cisgender guy.”

Jamie Wilson has gotten a lot of support for being trans, but he has also had his fair share of critics, both online and in real life. “I’ve had people tell me I can’t be transgender because I was such a pretty girl or because I didn’t show the signs,” he shared.

Even with all the negativity, he stays focused on being an inspiration. On Instagram, where he has more than 300,000 followers, he shared a strong message:

“Not everyone has to show ‘signs’ to be transgender. You don’t need to pass any tests to prove you’re trans…”

With pictures showing his change before and after his transition, he went on:

“And you sure as hell don’t need ANYONE’S approval but your own.”

Jamie’s photos from his female-to-male transition show him smiling with short hair and wearing casual clothes, and he added:

“This life is about finding yourself and becoming YOU. No one’s journey is the same…”

Jamie’s story is not just about his own change — it also serves as a guide for others who are going through the challenges of transitioning.
