Karissa, the young mom of the 9 kids, runs the Instagram account, which has over 350k followers. Shaq has been chatting with the family through their Instagram account. At the start of this year, he even went to visit them!
During his first visit, he spent a lot of time with the kids and showed them a lot of love. Karissa later shared in a post about the visit, “He came in and played ‘Watch ya mouth’ with the kids, loved on them, encouraged them, entertained them, took pics with them, gave them gifts, encouraged us as parents, and just showed us so much love.”
Even though this nice moment was enough for the family, the famous athlete had more surprises planned. A few months after they first met, he contacted them again and treated the family to dinner. “Last night, Shaq surprised us with a visit. He took us out to eat as a family at Babes Chicken. It was such a blast to just hang out and have dinner with him.”
Although this made the family really happy, the NBA star had even bigger surprises in store. The next day, he took them to the Mercedes dealership and ordered a custom 15-passenger van for them, which they are set to receive in mid-July.
The family was amazed by his kindness, and the kids were overjoyed, hugging their hero non-stop.
But that wasn’t the end of Shaq’s generosity! The family went out to dinner with the NBA star again. They mentioned that during this dinner, he spread joy everywhere.
“He took us to dinner at Rainforest Café, where he paid for another table’s entire meal without knowing they were from out of state and here on a mission. Then he tipped our waitress $1000 after her car broke down today,” Karissa shared.
During their second dinner, Shaq learned that the father of nine was having trouble with his truck. The air conditioning and heating hadn’t been working well for some time.
Without any doubt, Shaq knew just what to do. He took the family to the Ford dealership and got the dad a shiny new truck!
