At Coldplay’s recent concert in Boston, lead singer Chris Martin created a viral moment when the ‘kiss cam’ caught what many think is a secret affair. When the camera focused on a man with his arms around a woman, the man quickly ducked out of view, while the woman attempted to cover her face.
Martin’s response? “Oh look at these two,” he was heard saying in the now-famous clip. “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
Before long, the “couple” was recognized as Andy Byron, the CEO of the New York-based company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer.

What was meant to be a romantic night for Byron and his employee turned into one of the biggest corporate scandals of the year.
Unsurprisingly, the clip — which many believe shows infidelity happening — has gone viral, sparking a huge reaction online.
Following the revelation of the “exposed affair,” a statement that seemed to be authored by Byron was posted on social media. It talks about a “deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage.” It goes on to say: “I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You all deserve better from me as a partner, a father, and a leader.”
The conclusion? A quote from Coldplay: “Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you.”

However, it was discovered that the statement was not authentic. In reality, it was a parody from an X profile belonging to someone named Peter Enis from CBS News.
In a conversation with TMZ, Astronomer confirmed that the statement was fake.
Later, a community note was added to the original ‘statement,’ which said: “Peter Enis does not exist at CBS News. Until earlier today, this account was marked as a parody. This was changed intentionally to mislead.
“Thanks to everyone who made today so entertaining. I’m happy you all liked the Fix You lyric at the end. I thought about that one.. Best, P.Enis.”
