Netflix Viewers Binge-Watching Raunchy Period Drama

Viewers are hooked on Netflix‘s new s**-filled period drama, which, according to viewers, makes Bridgerton feel tame in comparison.

The raunchy period drama has an impressively high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, at 97 percent, and viewers cannot seem to get enough.

The TV series was originally broadcast by ITV and BBC Two, and follows the story of feuding madams Margaret Wells (Samantha Morton) and Lydia Quigley (Lesley Manville) and the p***titutes who live in their brothels.

The scene is set in Georgian England during the 1760s, and has been on the streaming platform since the beginning of July.

So if you haven’t already tuned in, there’s lots of catching up to be done.

The series boasts a star-studded cast, including Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as a p***titute, Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) as an aspiring MP who uses her services, and Liv Tyler (The Lord of the Rings) as an aristocrat.

There are currently three seasons of the drama available, but viewers have definitely been left wanting more.

Speaking to the Radio Times about a potential return of the show, one actress in the series said: “I’d always be interested – obviously I’d be interested.

“I had nothing but a pleasurable time doing all three series, and it was one of those blissful jobs, so I’d definitely [give] that a lot of consideration but it’s certainly not something that’s been talked about.”

Since H**lots landed on Netflix, fans have been very vocal about their love for the period drama.

One said: “This started off with a bang in every sense of the word.”

Another added: “I finished H**lots guys, I’m in emotional turmoil at 3 a.m. Please, I need another season.”

“I’m so happy that Netflix are streaming H**lots, a REALISTIC British period drama,” another noted.

The success of H**lots ultimately comes after the Bridgerton boom, and fans will be glad to learn that the much-loved Netflix series will be returning to screens in May 2026.

A TV insider told The Sun: “After introducing the controversial gender swap at the end of series three which saw Michael Stirling switched to Michaela, there is a chance execs could skip ahead to Francesca’s story.

“They certainly weren’t afraid to dabble with Julia Quinn’s timeline by swapping the order of Colin and Benedict’s tales.”

The publication has also reported that Netflix bagged a multi-million pound investment to make series five and six.
