People have been left shocked after finding out about Wilson’s daughter.
One person pens: “Looks like her father, I would say it’s a shame how things turned out.”
“This innocent, beautiful child should be in his life and the life of his family,” another adds.
A third writes: “She is so cute. Owen is crazy not to see his daughter.”
Wilson shares Lyla with his ex, Varunie Vongsvirates, who he reportedly ‘dated for almost five years.’
Vongsvirates often posts photos of the little girl on Instagram, where many insist she is the mini-me of the Loki star.
Radar Online reports that Wilson changed his phone number after discovering Vongsvirates’ pregnancy.
“When Varunie told Owen she was pregnant, he was not happy about it, and that was the last time they ever spoke,” a source claims.
An Us Weekly source alleges Wilson ‘refuses to meet his daughter’ and he ‘checked the no visitation box in court.’
A representative of Wilson also told the outlet: “This is a private matter and it’s not appropriate to comment further.”
The actor’s paternity test revealed ‘the alleged father is not excluded as the biological father of the fetus,’ according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Vongsvirates claims her former lover has ‘never met’ his daughter.
“He helps financially but it’s never been about that,” she told the outlet.
Vongsvirates added that her daughter ‘needs a father in her life’ and that it’s ‘ironic’ Wilson keeps getting doting father roles.
According to reports, the Marry Me star generously fulfills his legal obligations towards his daughter. He reportedly pays $25,000 a month in child support for Lyla.
It’s believed he also paid a one-off payment of $75,000 to Vongsvirates, covering the cost of a night nurse, labor coach, and her legal fees.
A source tells Radar that Vongsvirates speaking out has ‘nothing’ to do with money.
“Varunie’s mother passed away when she was still kind of young and impressionable,” an insider says. “She knows what it’s like to grow up with one parent. She doesn’t want that to happen to her daughter.”
