TV Reporter Nathan Templeton Has Died Aged 44

TV reporter Nathan Templeton has sadly died aged 44.

The Australian journalist was a reporter for Seven’s Sunrise and he also covered a range of sports, including being a poolside reporter at the Olympic games.

He worked for Seven Network for over 12 years, however, he had not been on-air since late 2022 – he worked in a behind-the-scenes role throughout 2023 and 2024, as per The Sun.

But sadly, it has now been announced that Templeton has passed away.

Lewis Martin, the Managing Director of Seven Melbourne and Network Head of Sport, paid tribute to Templeton – describing his shock death as leaving everyone at Seven ‘profoundly saddened’.

He said in a statement (via Metro): “Nathan was a respected journalist whose passion for storytelling was evident in all his years reporting for Sunrise, 7NEWS and multiple Olympic Games.

“He was based out of Seven’s Melbourne headquarters but was well known and much-loved right across the network, and through his work on Sunrise and major sporting events, right around Australia.

“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, loved ones and especially his two young sons, during this difficult time.”

The TV journalist was reportedly found dead near Barwon River in Geelong earlier this week after suffering an undisclosed medical episode, according to News.com.au.

It is believed that he was walking his dog at the time.

Police have said in a statement: “Emergency services were called to a park in Newtown about 2.30pm (on Tuesday) where the man was located deceased.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.”

Templeton is survived by his two young sons and his wife Kate.

Rest in peace.
