Did you ever notice that series get canceled and suddenly, they get a new life by showing up on Netflix? It seems as if the streaming platform has that unique ability, and they’ve done it again.
Recently, a TV series about the passengers and crew of a commercial flight that reappeared after being missing for 5 1/2 years has shown up on Netflix. It may have been canceled, but now fans consider it to be the ‘best show’ on that streaming platform.

When Manifest first was shown on TV, it was shown by NBC. That was back in 2018 and three seasons of the show were shared before it was canceled in June 2021. There was a fourth season on the radar, but the network snuffed it.
The problem was, that the show had ended on a cliffhanger and people were wanting to see season four. Netflix knew this so they picked up the rights and gave the go-ahead for season four to be filmed.
Since Manifest appeared on Netflix, it has become one of the most-watched shows on the network. Over 57 million people have watched it since it posted.
Season four’s first half, which is said to be the finale came out in November 2022. In June 2023, the second half of season four dropped and a new fan base came out of the woodwork.

The fans, who can’t say enough good about the show often post on social media to give their reaction. They talk about how the ending was perfect and some even thanked Netflix for posting such a great show.
Melissa Roxburgh, who plays Michaela Stone in the show has given interviews about the series being canceled and then revitalized. When they asked her how she felt about the show being dropped, she said: “There were a good two to three months of emotional downs when we knew we were getting canceled but hadn’t gotten the official word.
“Then once Netflix came into the picture, there was another month’s worth of ups and downs because we didn’t know what that exactly meant or what it would look like.
“There were talks about an hour-long movie, about six episodes just to wrap things up. By the time we heard we were getting 20 episodes, we’d been angry, happy, sad, all of it.
“It was an obvious yes because it was the best offer for the show.”
This is a show that is well worth binge-watching. Here’s the trailer to whet your appetite.
