She’s now a successful solo artist, having amassed billions of streams on music platforms.
In a new interview, Cabello has opened up about her love life and her ‘perfect first relationship.’
In recent years, Cabello’s love life has made headlines.
As well as finding happiness in her solo career, the singer dated fellow pop star Shawn Mendes from 2019 to 2021.
Throughout their relationship, PDA-filled snaps of the pair would go viral on social media.
Sadly, Cabello and Mendes would call it quits on their relationship after two years of dating – they vowed to remain ‘best friends.’
In a joint statement, they said: “We’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.”
Now, Cabello has revealed that she lost her virginity to another celebrity who she was a ‘big fan’ of.
On Dax Shepherd’s Armchair Expert Podcast, the ‘Señorita’ singer candidly discussed being ‘late for the first time’ at 20 years old.
She recalled: “That was my first time having s**. First lovemaking was at 20, 21… It was literally lovemaking. It was beautiful.”
Cabello met Matthew Hussey, podcast host and author behind ‘Get the Guy,’ in 2018 on the set of The Today Show.
The pop star said: “I had actually listened to his podcast before. I listened to his podcast before as a fan because he had, like, a dating podcast.”
Cabello said she told Hussey: “I’m such a big fan,” and they went to dinner that night.
She added: “He was a really great person. It was like the perfect first relationship. [He] really expanded my world because he wasn’t in my industry too.”
People magazine reports that the pair split in 2019. Since parting ways, both have moved on – with Cabello famously dating Mendes.
Hussey tied the knot to Audrey Le Strat in October 2023.
Cabello revealed during her appearance on the Call Me Daddy podcast that she’s currently single, adding: “I’ve been in relationships a lot since I started dating. It feels fun to just get to know people and talk and see what happens.”
