Cherelle Griner Was A Catalyst To get Brittany Griner Free From Russia

Cherelle Griner, the wife of WNBA star Brittney Griner, would not stop until her wife was free from Russia.

Griner had been detained in Russia for 212 days ever since she was arrested at a Moscow airport for carrying vape cartridges that contained cannabis oil in her luggage.

She was sentenced to nine years in prison in August, a ruling that’s been appealed.

Working close to Joe Biden, that freedom finally came true as a result of a trade.

When Cherelle spoke from the White House, she made it clear: “Today my family is whole, but as you are all aware, there are so many families who are not whole.”

She added that she will continue advocating for “getting every American home, including Paul, whose family is in our hearts today.”
