A DJ intervened during a heated exchange between Olympic volleyball players from Brazil and Canada on Friday.
The Brazilian beach volleyball team will return home with gold after beating the Canadian side in the final, but things got feisty between the teams during said fixture, with all of the players coming to the net to argue.
The doubles event featured Ana Patricia Silva Ramos and Eduarda ‘Duda’ Santos Lisboa of Brazil vs. Canada’s setup of Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson. They were clearly unhappy with each other at one point, getting in each other’s faces with the net between them.
The match official tried calming them down, but the DJ was the one who managed to change the mood, playing John Lennon’s “Imagine” and immediately altering the atmosphere. The players couldn’t help but laugh and smile after it became apparent what the DJ was trying to do. Onlookers joined in as well.

“That’s amazing. Let’s remember what the Olympic Spirit and experience is all about,” one fan wrote.
“I really need the tea on what started all that,” another said.
Brazil’s Olympic Volleyball Dominance Reinstated After Almost 30 Years
Brazil eventually won the match, snagging the country’s first women’s Olympic volleyball medal since 1996.
Canada, who lost in the best of three sets, will leave Paris with silver and quite possibly a hilarious memory.
It just goes to show that music can bring people together if you time it right, more so if it’s from John Lennon.
