Joel Embiid Reportedly Plans To Ditch Team USA And Play For Another Surprising Country At The 2028 Olympics In Los Angeles

Team USA is on the brink of securing one more gold medal for the country. The American men’s baseball team has only one game left to dazzle everyone at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After winning five straight games against several teams, Team USA will play the gold medal game against France on August 11th. However, before the final game for his country this year, one of the star players of Team USA made a big announcement regarding the next Olympics appearance. According to recent reports by NBA Insider Ron Kroichick, the American men’s basketball Team’s Center, Joel Embiid, might play for Cameroon in the next Olympics.

“It’s been a good experience. It’s been a grind, being away from home and family for a few weeks. But the group of guys we have made it easy. Paris is a great city and the next one is LA. It might not be with Team USA, it might be with Cameroon.” Kroichick wrote in his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Embiid, who recently taunted the French crowd, had a positive experience representing Team USA with great players and praised Paris. He mentioned that he will be playing for Cameroon in the next Olympics instead of the USA. Embiid, a Cameroonian-American professional basketball player, is a star player for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. The seven-time NBA All-Star was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to military officer Thomas Embiid. Representing his birthplace will be fascinating to see for Cameroon fans.

Embiid Fires Back at French Trolls: A Bold Response to Fans Haterade

Embiid has made an excellent effort for Team USA. However, his performance was not appreciated by the fans in the crowd. The French crowd booed him whenever he touched the ball and tried to make a shot. The drama is because Embiid has dual citizenship in both the USA and France, and French fans were expecting him to play for France in the 2024 Olympics.

However, the 2023 NBA MVP chose to play for Team USA instead of France, which led to heavy criticism from the French fans. However, Embiid recently responded to the hate from French fans. According to Kroichick, Embiid clapped back at the French fans for trolling him.

“More from Embiid, on French fans booing him for choosing to play for Team USA: “They boo me, I’m going to go back at them and tell them to suck it.” Hmm. It feels like the boos will be louder than ever during tomorrow night’s gold-medal game, yes?” Kroichick wrote in his latest post on X.

It will be fascinating to see the reaction of the French crowd if Team USA wins against France in the men’s basketball final at the 2024 Olympics.
