A 32-year-old woman was attacked by a polar bear on Friday after she entered their enclosure at the Berlin Zoo during feeding time.
Before she was saved, she had been bitten a lot.
To gain access, the woman known only as Mandy K had to scale a fence, navigate through a row of hedges, and climb over a wall.
The woman jumped over the barriers while the bear was being fed at the Berlin Zoo, resulting in injuries to her arms, legs, and back.
Even with the attempts of six zookeepers to redirect the four predators, one bear continued to bite the victim on the arms and legs.
The zookeepers successfully frightened the bear away and rescued the woman.
The 32-year-old woman is currently recuperating in the hospital after undergoing surgery to mend her injuries.
It later became clear that she is a teacher who had fallen into despair due to her inability to secure a job.
