Paris Olympics’ Cigarette Ban Is Totally Ruining LPGA Star Charley Hull’s Chances At Gold

Charley Hull has been making headlines recently after one of her Instagram posts went viral from Paris. A notable part of that post was the vape on the table next to her, and it could be linked to her disappointing performance so far.

Hull recently struggled at the Olympics in Paris at Le Golf National, where guidelines for everyone prohibit smoking in any public area except for designated smoking areas, and it seems like something that we wouldn’t bat an eye at.

The LPGA star has stated in an interview before that smoking relaxes her, which is why some golf fans are connecting the dots that she may be quite possibly the first athlete to blame her struggles on not being able to smoke.

The 28-year-old golf star finished last place among the 60 other competitors, enjoying a little competition at the opening round. Her final score was a whopping 9-over 81, a far cry from her seventh-place finish in Rio in 2016.

Viral Golfer Charley Hull Struggles To Open The Olympics

In the aforementioned interview, it almost seemed as though Hull foreshadowed her opening performance. When asked if she thought it would affect her, she said, “Yeah, I think it will… …but it is what it is.”

Hull may not want to return to France any time soon if her play struggles. The country expanded its crackdown on smoking nationwide, aiming for a smoking-free generation by 2032, something the golfer doesn’t seem too fond of.

While the English golf rep’s start has been rough, her time at the Olympic games isn’t over just yet. She is set to compete in round two early Thursday morning. It’s possible she has a better showing, as anything is possible with her skill.
