Kylie Kelce is coming to Taylor Swift’s defense.
After the “Karma” singer attended Super Bowl LIX to support boyfriend Travis Kelce and was booed by the crowd at Caesars Superdome, Kylie shared an understated response.
Indeed, the Not Gonna Lie podcast host “liked” a Feb. 13 Sports Illustrated Instagram post explaining Erin Andrews’ perspective on the faux pas. The sportscaster had slammed the Super Bowl crowd on a Feb. 11 episode of the Calm Down With Erin and Charissa podcast, where she said, “I feel bad for the most famous, amazing woman in the world who f–king gets booed at the Super Bowl.”
But Kylie and Charissa aren’t the only ones upset that Taylor received such a negative welcome from the crowd at the Super Bowl, where the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. After all, even Eagles running back Saquon Barkley thought the gesture went a bridge too far.
“I remember that they showed her on the jumbotron and she got booed,” Saquon explained on a Feb. 12 episode of The Howard Stern Show. “I don’t get why she was getting hate there.”
The 28-year-old, who has played in the NFL since 2018, emphasized that Taylor has had only a positive impact on the franchise.
“She’s there supporting her significant other and she’s made the game bigger,” he continued. “In football, we’re all about how we can expand the game and make it more international. We’re traveling to Brazil, Mexico, and Australia soon. [Taylor] being a part of it is only helping that, so I don’t get the slack that she’s getting.”
Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesAs for Taylor, she’s used to shaking off the hate, hate, hate. She took the negative moment in stride, laughing off the angry crowd with pal Ice Spice. And last year, the “Fortnight” singer spoke out on NFL fans who are less than thrilled by her infrequent presence in the stadiums.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” she told Time of the negative response from a certain league of NFL fans. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
