Musk revealed his transformation on social media, admitting he uses Mounjaro, a popular weight-loss drug.

Musk’s admission comes as he continues to champion GLP-1 inhibitors as a solution to America’s obesity issues.

The Tesla, SpaceX, and X chief shared the news on his social media platform X, alongside an image of himself dressed as Santa Claus, complete with a flowing white beard.

He captioned the photo: “Ozempic Santa — Like Cocaine Bear, but Santa and Ozempic!”

Musk quickly clarified: “Technically, Mounjaro, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it.”

Mounjaro, like its counterpart Ozempic, belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 inhibitors.

Initially developed to help diabetics regulate blood sugar and insulin levels, these medications have gained popularity among Americans seeking to lose weight effectively.

Musk, 53, expressed his preference for Mounjaro over Ozempic, citing fewer side effects.

“High doses of [Ozempic] made me fart & burp like Barney from the Simpson’s,” Musk joked, adding: “Mounjaro seems to have fewer side effects and be more effective.”

Musk has long advocated for the widespread use of GLP-1 inhibitors to address the nation’s obesity crisis, as reported by the New York Post.

However, his stance contrasts sharply with that of incoming Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who favors promoting healthier eating habits over medications.

Kennedy, 70, has argued that dietary changes represent a more cost-effective and sustainable approach to tackling obesity.

The differing viewpoints are expected to spark debates as both Musk and Kennedy prepare to take on leadership roles in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

Musk is slated to head the newly formed Department of Governmental Efficiency.

Musk’s support for GLP-1 inhibitors has even gained unexpected praise from the hosts of The View.

Whoopi Goldberg – who has openly discussed her use of the weight-loss shot – voiced her agreement with Musk.

“Elon’s right on this,” Goldberg said during a recent episode, referencing the disagreement between Musk and Kennedy.

The 69-year-old comedian also shared her personal weight-loss journey with viewers, revealing that she once weighed nearly 300 pounds before starting her own journey.

“I’m doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help and it’s been really good for me,” she revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Goldberg proudly displayed her slimmer figure during both discussions.

Musk’s recent endorsement of Mounjaro follows his admission in 2022 of using Wegovy, another GLP-1 inhibitor.
