The 69-year-old designer attended the event alongside longtime friend Sir Elton John, who composed the show’s music.
The musical, based on the beloved 2006 film starring Anne Hathaway, drew a star-studded crowd, including Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour – widely believed to have inspired the story’s central character – and actress Vanessa Williams.
Donatella dazzled on the red carpet in a sheer, heavily embellished bronze mini-dress layered over a black sweetheart neckline bodysuit.
She completed the look with knee-high brown leather platform boots and accessorized with a red AIDS awareness ribbon, honoring the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the gala’s beneficiary.
Sharing the evening on Instagram, Donatella posted: “R.S.V.P. YES! The Devil Wears Prada for its Opening Gala Night,” describing the production as “mesmerizing” and praising Elton John’s contributions.
